The School

Aviation Academy, Belgrade, Serbia is unique VET school in the region teaching civilian and military aviation program. Curricula and dual education are harmonized with international and national standards of aviation personnel education prescribed by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) and Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia. Two civil programs are taught in English (bilingual CLIL programs). We are educating the aviation staff taking into account the requirements of PART-66, PART-147 and PART–FCL standards. The school has signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education and training of personnel for the needs of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. The curriculum includes practical training that is successfully implemented in domestic partner organizations with which the school has signed an agreement on dual education.

Our mission is internationalization and modernization of the school with the aim of expanding professional aspects and gaining insight into contemporary tendencies in the field of education, professional development and the achievement of lifelong learning, strengthening linguistic, digital and personal competencies for performing the profession, acquiring applicable knowledge by insight into examples of good practice in different educational contexts at the European level. The school has developed international cooperation through Erasmus programe (VET mobility projects and strategic partnership supporting innovation and exchange of good practices). Our Strategy of Internalisation has many goals, through defined steps of action plan such as sustainability of the lifelong learning process and the professional development support to teachers and professional associates in VET sectors, modernizing the contents of the school curriculum, teaching materials and didactic tools in accordance with the needs and changes in the labour market and digitalization of school teaching process adhering to the Industry 4.0 principles.

The Staff

Prof. Danijela Manić

Danijela Manić, PhD, has been working as an English teacher and Aviation English teacher at Aviation Academy for 20 years. She is the coordinator of Team for international cooperation and Erasmus projects. She has participated in many international projects in the last eight years as the author and coordinator. Mrs Manic has been certified as an ICAO Aviation English examiner and assessor by Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia. She is the author of workbooks used for teaching Aviation English in her school. She has organized and conducted many seminars and workshops, on the topic of CLIL, TBLT and bilingual education. A lot of scientific papers and researches on language teaching were published.

Prof. Vladimir Nikolić

Vladimir Nikolić, Master of Science ( MSc) Air Transportation and Air Traffic Engineering-Belgrade. PPL-ATPL-EASA-TKInstructor.-Ex/pilot He finished the Secondary Military Aviation Gymnasium in the field of aviation in the former Yugoslavia. He started schooling at the Air Force Military Academy (fighter-bomber schooling), which was interrupted due to the civil war and the disintegration of Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Department of Aviation at the Faculty of Transportation in Belgrade. He worked as a professional pilot and lecturer in the aviation sector. He has had 6 years of international experience in Africa on various aviation duties. Current preoccupation with drones as well as the introduction of (UAV) technology in everyday life. He actively participates in international student cooperation. 

Prof. Dejan Crnoglavac

Dejan Crnoglavac, teacher at the Aviation Academy Belgrade, currently teaching electrical engineering. He graduated from the Faculty of Technical sciences, department Electrical engineering. Participant in the Erasmus project Safe Drones Over Safe Environment for the first time this year, keen to learn and improve his skills.

Prof. Dragoljub Živanović

Dragoljub Živanović, teacher at the Aviation Academy Belgrade – secondary vocational school and instructor at the Training Center of the Aviation Academy. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Department of Aerospace Engineering. An active participant in many domestic and foreign projects of the Aviation Academy, he is currently participating in the Erasmus + project Safe Drones Over Safe Environment.

Prof. Aleksandar Starčević

Aleksandar Starčević, employed as a teacher at the Aviation Academy Belgrade, which he attended. Graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and completed a master’s degree in Aerospace engineering. Currently teaching 3D modeling in CatiaV5. Participant in international program Erasmus + project Safe Drones Over Safe Environment.
