VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL

Turkey’s first thematic and project school in its branch Aksu Aircraft Maintenance Technology Vocational High School continues education and training in Antalya’s Aksu district with its 400 students and 35 staff.

The school started education in 2016-2017 educational year and there is a Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-400 type passenger airplane (has a flight simulator in cockpit and being used as a library now) in the school yard.On 07.06.2018 with the participation of our Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt ÇAVUŞOĞLU, the opening ceremony of aircraft library, museum and mini cinema hall took place.School has also a F4 Aircraft plane in its front yard and students have the opportunity to do practical training.

Besides giving vocational training on aviation, our school has the integrated program of disciplines; Turkish Language, History, Geography, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Art, Information Technology, Foreign Languages (English) and Physical Education. The school implements a comprehensive 4-year programme at the secondary school level . Students are aged 14-18 .In the 11th and 12th grade students start training and internship programme and they go to the Airport Technical Units to conduct their training 3 days in a week.After the internship program they enter module exams and the succesfful ones get their certificates.

We have hangars in our school garden and lots of training sets including training simulators.

Students and our Aircraft Maintenance Technology branch teachers get technical training from the experts from SunExpress and Corendon Technical Units . Sectors representatives occasionally visit our school and give seminars in “Career Days” which is held once a month. Our school aims to graduate well-equipped expert students for the sector. 

There are also General and Vocational English lessons at school to promote students communicative skills. Once a year we organise a technical job shadowing visits to the international schools and flight centres. (Lufthansa Airways Line Maintenance Service 2017 Vienna international Flight School 2018 and Porto NortAvia Flight and Maintenance school 2019 )

Our school has 9 protocols with the Aviation sector (national and international firms) We are conducting national and international projects (KA 229 and 202 projects) related to digital education and VET education .

The Staff

Prof. Gülşen TOPÇU

Gülşen TOPÇU is an experienced English teacher with a bachelor’s degree from Hacettepe University E.L.T department and conducted EU projects as a coordinator and partner before. She joined international trainings and seminars on various topics and has international certificates.She has more than 10 years’ experience in elaboration, submission and execution of European Projects.She has joined trainings on using web 2.0 tools and integrating them to education process. She has been working at Aksu Aircraft Maintenance Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School as English teacher and EU Projects Coordinator since 2019.

Prof. Gamze Güvener Erşahi̇n

Mrs Gamze GÜVENER is an experienced English teacher with a master degree from Yıldız Technical University E.L.T department. She has a TKT certificate and has an Overseas Teacher Training certificate .She has also experience in elaboration, submission and execution of European Projects. She has been working at Aksu Aircraft Maintenance Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School as English teacher Project management team member since 2016.

Prof.  Feyzanur Kayapinar

She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Ankara.Then she graduated from  Selcuk University Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Konya) Currently she works as a Avonics teacher at Aksu Aircraft Maintenance Technology Vocational and Technical High School.She received certificate from BELTEK for completing Autocad Course She is a Member of Turkish Chamber of Electrical Engineers.

Prof.  Fatma Söylemez

She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Elazığ. She graduated from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Fırat University in 2013. She completed her master’s degree in the Department of Electronics at Fırat University, Faculty of Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2019. Since 2019, she has been working as an Aircraft Electronics Teacher at Antalya Aksu Aircraft Maintenance Technology Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School.
